Do You See What I See?

“Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved wretch like me….I once was lost and now amd found, was blind but now I see”

What is it that I see?

The Bible tells us that the enemy of our souls has “blinded the eyes of unbelievers”.  What does it mean to be spiritually blind?  When one is spiritually blind, will they know it? I suspect not.   Before my eyes were opened, I couldn’t know what I did not see? When you are blind, you are blind.

We are born spiritually blind and must be reborn to see.

I, Tom Garvin, once was blind but now I see.  What do I see?

• I see a world that is confused, desperate, lost, anxious, depressive and fighting to survive, usually fighting or competing with one another.
• I see people suffering with addictions, ailments, broken relationships, poverty, and fear as well as those who have seemingly gained the whole world but are at risk of losing their soul.
• I see some who are all alone, lonely, marginalized, hiding, embarrassed, insecure and ashamed along with others who are pretentious, self-promoting,  self-confident, popular people on the outside while suffering silently within.
• I see so so many who are hapless and hopeless where suicide is introduced as a welcome relief.

Do you see what I see?

I keep looking, a little closer.

• I see Jesus – In the stable, on the cross, in the grave and risen to Heaven, alive forevermore.
• I see, Emmanuel, God actually with me.
• I see that that God actually Is and Is who He Is and came and dwelt among us.
• I see a great tragedy – that Jesus, the Creator of all things, came to ‘we’ that He created and His own received Him not!
• I see Jesus healing the blind, opening their eyes. I experienced Him do this for me.
• I have increasingly seen more clearly as I’ve spent time in His light. Light begets light. He is indeed the Light of the world.

Do you see what I see? Do you see who I see?

• I hear an open invitation that still stands. For any and all to come to the Light to receive their sight.
• I hear encouragement to all who have had their eyes open, to stay in the light to keep darkness away.
• I hear the voice of the angels still crying “Glory to God in the Highest and peace men of good will”
• I hear God’s voice saying “come to me ALL of you who are tired and weary and I will give You rest”

Do you hear what I hear? 

• When, you look in the mirror, what do you see ?
• When you overhear your own thoughts what do you hear?

My Christmas wish

• My highest desire is for you, and for all people to see and hear Him. This is His desire as well.
• I know Him to be Him and I want you to know Him as well.
• This world is a rat race going nowhere as the blind are ‘leading’, or chasing the blind. I want you to get out of this race and walk with Him.

Though I am limited in being able to heal your spiritual eyes and ears.  I am able to touch you with my words, support you with my prayers, lead you by the hand to Him who is able to embrace, redeem and refresh you.

We must ‘go to actually know.  I cannot go for you, but I can lead the way.

 Come with me as I follow Him….
