The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10
You may ask, Is God really intentional about this? Of course, He Is! So why does life often seem so strenuous, empty, and meaningless?
Valor Disciples’ Vision:
To witness a growing multitude experiencing a deep, intimate relationship and understanding of God. This connection serves as the catalyst for embodying the qualities of Christ. The transformation is profound and authentic, solely attributed to Him, rather than our efforts.
But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:16-18
When we intentionally and consistently dedicate time to quiet prayer and reflection in the presence of God, we undergo profound change. Developing steadfast spiritual disciplines isn’t easy, it requires companionship, encouragement, and mentoring, where iron sharpens iron. It’s a transformative journey that requires dedication, and fostering growth through shared experiences and guidance.
How can we know this is true? We have to Go to Know…..Let’s go, I’ll help
Valor Disciples Mission:
To be a disciple in order to make disciples
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
I have dedicated significant time to asking God, “What is Your will for me?” This verse has made it clear to me and I was inspired. Then I asked God, “How.” Valor’s Disciples became a part of His response. I understand that I must be a disciple to create disciples, following the principle of “Go to Know.” I am committed to this journey.
My experience based convictions:
Being a disciple is about connecting with real people, building genuine relationships, and dealing with the challenges of real life.
To truly be a disciple and help others become disciples, we need to invest time with purpose and sincerity. This genuine discipleship leads to meaningful spiritual growth and prevents spiritual emptiness.
I often say that you have to “Go to Know.” Being a disciple means taking action and gaining knowledge as a result.
We cannot ‘try hard’ to be a good Christian. Living a genuine spiritual life depends on God and isn’t just about our efforts. Instead of struggling, we should let go and let God work through us for His purpose.
The enemy distracts and discourages believers. This has created a community of believers in the church who, with good intentions, focus on organizing and controlling discipleship instead of actually living as disciples. This results in relying on our own efforts to follow certain behaviors, which can’t truly change us.
