Existing, Surviving, Living<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cQu\u00e9 ser\u00e1, ser\u00e1 What will be, will be<\/strong>\u201d \"\"<\/p>\n

The Beatles sang:<\/p>\n

Ob-la-di<\/strong>, ob-la-da<\/strong>, <\/strong>Life goes on<\/strong>,<\/strong> brah, La, la, how the life goes on<\/p>\n

Until it doesn\u2019t.\u00a0 Then what?<\/p>\n

I am sincerely troubled<\/u> by my observation that most people do not take the time to ponder, consider, care about life in general nor their own life in particular.<\/p>\n

Life is undeniable, here \u2018we\u2019 are, there \u2018they\u2019 are.\u00a0 Where did life come from?, What is intended by it?, These are questions that it seems, most avoid considering.\u00a0 We excuse ourselves of our disinterest by acting as though we are too busy living to take the time to deal with these \u2018higher\u2019, ultimate questions.\u00a0 But, are we too busy living?\u00a0 Are we living at all?<\/p>\n

Seems that there are at least three types of approaches to life.\u00a0\u00a0 One can exist, one can exist and survive, one can exist, survive and live.<\/p>\n

Matt 11:17 <\/em>\u201c\u2018We played the pipe for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Many people appear simply deaf, blind, emotionless, inattentive.\"\"<\/p>\n

Sadly, there are so many who are merely existing<\/strong>. They act likr soulless beings. Like a big rock in a field, it exists there, we exist here. The rock gives no thought to how it got there, what its purpose is.\u00a0 It simply exists. At times it gets rained upon, moved, shattered, painted.\u00a0\u00a0 It really does exist but it only exists. What about us?\u00a0 Are we just placed here weathering whatever comes our way until we no longer exist? This is shockingly boring!<\/p>\n

Perhaps we go beyond simply existing and instead work to survive<\/strong>. We recognize that we are different than a big rock, we actually have thoughts, feelings, soul.\u00a0\u00a0 And as we look at and coexist with others, we compare.\u00a0 Life becomes like the reality series Survivor, a game of survival, it\u2019s a competition.\u00a0 We actually try to survive longer and better than others until we are \u2018voted\u2019 off the island. We learn the principle of \u2018survival of the fittest\u2019 and work hard to be more fit than others.\u00a0 We work hard to become more fit than others in areas of education, social status, possessions, finance, power, influence, physical fitness etc. This approach is far less boring than just existing \u2013 but towards what end?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Mark 8:36-37 \u201c<\/em>\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><\/strong>What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><\/strong>Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Then there are those who explore, discover and actually live life<\/strong>.\u00a0 They seek answers,\u00a0 where did it originate?, what is its purpose?, how do best live it?,\u00a0 making our days count vs just counting our days.\u00a0 They seek out the author and learn from Him. They exercise His words and discover they are true,\u00a0 They taste and see that He is always good and they are filled with purpose, pleasure and peace.<\/p>\n

John 10:10<\/em>\u00a0says, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”.\"\"<\/em><\/p>\n

As I\u2019ve repeated many times, we are invited to an incredible, forever life alongside, under the guidance and protection of our Heavenly Father, \u00a0our Creator.\u00a0 He brought us into existence, knitting us together in our Mommy\u2019s womb and He who has seen all our days before one had come to be will direct our steps safely helping us to survive so that we might actually live life as it was designed to be lived both now and for eternity.<\/p>\n

We must \u2018go, to know\u2019 this life.<\/p>\n

Matt 7:7-8\u00a0 <\/em>\u201cAsk and it will be given to you;\u00a0seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>for everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds;\u00a0and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
