STOP TRYING!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI am trying to trust God\u201d<\/strong> \u2013 how often have I said that or heard someone say that?<\/p>\n

Usually, we might say such a thing when we are having some difficulty and we are feeling anxious about the outcome.\u00a0 We may have been encouraged that if we trust God, He will work all things together for good<\/em>.\u00a0 \u201cSounds good, let me go try\u201d.\u00a0 And off we go, to do what?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

After many years of experience, I have learned to interpret \u201cI am trying\u201d as actually meaning a) I don\u2019t know how to trust Him or b) I\u2019m not trusting Him. \"\"<\/p>\n

Trying to trust God isn\u2019t a real action.\u00a0 It is something that you can spend your whole life thinking you are doing and yet aren\u2019t doing anything. It can be an exhausting deception, an excuse, a barrier because the only way to trust God is to actually trust Him. Trying is synonymous with Not trusting.<\/p>\n

Are you trusting God?<\/strong>\u00a0It actually takes no effort unless we see surrender, as an effort. Surrender though is a giving up \u2013 not a doing something.<\/p>\n

If you are trusting God, you know there is no need to try.\u00a0 Trying is a deceptive place holder for unbelief.<\/p>\n

What if I don\u2019t know how to trust God?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well, I think the Bible helps us with this one.<\/p>\n

James 1:22 \u201cDo not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/em> Said another way, If \u00a0we only hear and even agree with what is purported to be true and we don\u2019t\u2019 do what it says, we will be deceived.<\/p>\n

What will we be deceived into thinking?\u00a0 We will think that we are trusting and believing when we are not.<\/p>\n

Question<\/strong>:\u00a0 When we are deceived, do we know it?\u00a0 NO! O fcourse not, that\u2019s the definition of deceive.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 How scary!<\/p>\n

I was talking with some friends the other day \u00a0about faith and our relationship with God. \u00a0Danny explained the beauty of truth is that it is singular.\u00a0 What is true, is true.\u00a0 The Bible teaches us that it is truth that<\/em> sets us free<\/em>?\u00a0 Truth is the only key to actual freedom.\u00a0 It frees us from relentless, frustrating, discouraging \u00a0\u2018trying\u2019.\u00a0\u00a0 Danny went on to ask, \u00a0\u201cwhat is 2 + 2?\u201d\u00a0 We dutifully replied \u201c4\u201d.<\/strong>\u00a0 Danny responded, \u201cCorrect, now tell me all the wrong answers to 2+ 2\u201d.<\/p>\n

The point is well made.\u00a0There are infinite wrong answers, wrong approaches to life, wrong thoughts and actions \u2013 untruths.\u00a0 Jesus stated that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life, that God\u2019s Word is truth.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

If we believe, we will accept and do what He says.\u00a0\u00a0 If we are trying to believe, sadly, we are not.<\/p>\n

I often say \u201cWe have to go, to know\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 Exploring God, discovering God, exercising His promises, doing His Word is \u201cgoing to know\u2019. \u00a0Let\u2019s not nod our head in agreement and then run in place, let\u2019s go! And when you go, you will know.<\/p>\n

Seeing might aid in believing \u2013 Trying is not believing.<\/p>\n

Please Stop Trying \u2013 Seek and You will find. <\/strong><\/p>\n
